Just read Eddy's trip down Memory Lane for the nearly-30 years the store's been in operation. Wow, his words brought back so many memories! I discovered the store (on a car trip from St. Thomas with my mother) in the very early 80s, and then became a regular customer in 1983, when I moved here and started attending UWO. More comics than I can recall were set aside for me by Zorka, including many that I hadn't asked for but she just knew I'd be interested in! I remember Eddy, Zorka and Ella very fondly and had serious doubts when strapping young Steve took over... I seriously considered taking my business elsewhere at first, because Steve was such a different character than what I'd grown accustomed to within those walls. Before long, of course, Mr Jewett had won me over and was making his own recommendations for what I should be reading, which were right on more often than not. And his famous "Take it home and read it, and if you like it then pay me next week; otherwise just bring it back" offer boggled my mind (what other stores would ever do anything like that, in this day and age?). Tim's certainly got some big shoes to fill, with the history the store's had, but I'm sure he's well on his way to making the store his own, just as Eddy and Steve did before him.
