July GW Events

Saturday July 10th
8th Edition Intro Day!
10am - 12pm
Warhammer Fantasy - 500 point (7th & 8th)
Turn 1&2 7th ed. rules turn 3&4 8th ed. rules
3 points for a win,  2 for a draw, 1 for a loss.
$50 prize to the highest point total.

12pm - 2pm
Modeling Challenge
Bring your new GW models on the sprue and build as many as you can in 2 hours.
1 point per figure built, bonus points for extra care (removing mold lines etc.)
$50 prize to the highest point total.

2pm -  4pm
Warhammer Fantasy - 500 points (8th ed.)
start 12" apart, 2 game turns only!
3 points for a win,  2 for a draw, 1 for a loss.
$50 prize to the highest point total.


Saturday July 17 - 10am
Warhammer 40k - 1000 points - No Characters


Saturday 24 - 10am
Warhammer 8th Edition - 1500 points


Saturday 31, 10am
Warhammer 40k - 4000 points Apocalypse
Legal rules: all GW Apocalypse, all Forgeworld, BoLS Lords of Battle

For the sake of argument, in the 1st 500 point game on the 10th.  Which editions rules are we using for army build.

In both games we will use 8th Edition army composition rules:

     max 25 % Lords
     max 25 % Heroes
     min 25 % Core
     max 50 % Special - up to 3 duplicate choices
     max 25 % Rare - up to 2 duplicate choices

NOTE: FOR THESE GAMES ONLY 1 CORE CHOICE IS REQUIRED!

Trust me, I needed a shoe horn to fit in 500 points of Warriors of Chaos. My Exalted Hero basically has the shirt on his back...okay, it's a Chaos shirt, but still. No room for magic in there.

for 500pts ill have to go with a mage, fortunately, the lore of heavens is filled with, still, lotsa magic not requiring LOS so i can stick him wherever i want. =)

guys i've been looking into the rule book and asking around there is nothing that says you can't start a squad in a transport vechile thats not a dedicated transport.

yeah thats TOTALLY my bad.

i remembered it backwards, while its ok to start a squad inside a non DD transport, like your Valkyries.  a DD transport can ONLY have its attached squad embarked inside at the beginning.
